Bellefonte Little League 'Stars Lose Playoff Tilt
The Bellefonte Little League saw its playoff hopes dashed last night in Bellefonte as it dropped the opening game of the District 3 series to the Inter-community League, 4-1.
The visiting Blanchard-Beech Creek-Monument-Orviston all-stars had scored quickly in the first inning, but Bellefonte came back to tie in the third on an error, fielder choice, stolen base and triple.
The triple was one of only two hits Bellefonte go off the Inter-Community hurling.
The visitors came back in the bottom of the fifth to win the game, scoring three times on a single sandwiched between two walks and, after two were out, another single and an error.
The winners managed six hits off Bellefonte pitching, but could do little with them until the fatal fifth. The game ended after Bellefonte batted in the sixth.
