Personnel for Playoffs Named
Eight area Little Leagues have selected their players and coaches for the upcoming State eliminations which get under way next Thursday at 6 p.m.
Teams consist of 14 players, one manager and one caoch.
Competing in the District 10 Tournament will be Bellefonte, Bi-County, Suburban, Nittany Valley, Pleasant Gap and Mountain Top.
The Centre County entry in District 13 is Penns Valley. The County will be represented in the Inter-Community League in District 12.
Philipsburg and Osceola are also entered in District 10.
State College Suburban will be making its debut in Little League eliminations next week.
Last year Bellefonte beat Nittany Valley Nationals, Osceola and Mountain Top before losing to Philipsburg in the Southern Tier finals. Mountain Top eliminated 4 Leaf Clover.
Nittany Valley Americans beat Bi-County, then lost at Philipsburg. Pleasant Gap also lost to Philipsburg.
Penns Valley lost to Watsontown following a 6-5 win over Muncy.
Inter-Community advanced to the District 12 finals in 1961 before bowing to Williamsport.

5 Little League Teams Play tomorrow
Five o the eight area Little League all-star teams will play their first games in the State-wide eliminations tomorrow.
Inter-Community travels to Flemington, Penns Valley will entertain Snyder County, Pleasant Gap plays at State College Suburban and Bi-County will be at Philipsburg.
All game begin at 6 p.m.
Bellefonte , Mountain Top and Nittany Valley drew first round byes. They will play Saturday at 6 p.m.
Mountain Top will visit Bellefonte and Clearfield hosts Nittany Valley.
Also on Saturday, the winner of tomorrow's Moshannon Valley-Four Leaf Clover game will entertain the Bi-County-Philipsburg winner. Renovo meets the Inter-Community-Flemington winner and the Penns Valley-Snyder County winner hosts Millersburg.
Bellefonte, Bi-County, Suburban and Nittany Valley (State College), Pleasant Gap and Mountain Top are all in District 10 competition. Inter-Community is in District 12 and Penns Valley is a member of District 13.
Saturday's four survivors in District 10 will play July 24. Those two winners will July 26 in the Southern Tier finals of the District. The championship will be played Saturday, July 28.
Inter-Community competes in Area 2 of District 12. Area 1 and Area 2 will meet for the District title July 28.
The District 13 title game is set for Thursday, July 26.

3 Little League Clubs Win
Bellefonte, Suburban, Inter-Community Eye Area Championships
Three area Little League teams remained in competition after Saturday's all-star action.
Suburban and Inter-Community both won their second games. Suburban over Osceola, 6-1, and Inter-Community over Renovo, 3-1. Bellefonte edged Mountain top, 4-3, in its first all-star outing this year, and Nittany Valley lost to Clearfield, 12-7.
Suburban's pitching was again strong as Osceola managed only four hits.
The losers scored the games first run in the second inning, but Suburban came back with two of its own in the bottom half of the frame. The Centre County all-stars added another run in the fourt and three in the fifth to win it.
Suburban will be at Bellefonte tomorrow at 6 p.m. in District 10 action.
Inter-Community bunched all its runs in the second inning on a three-run homer. Rain halted the game in the fourth.
Inter-Community will meet Jersey Shore at Lock Haven tomorrow at 6 p.m. for the District 12, Area 2 Championship. The winner will play the District 12 Area 1 (Williamsport area) champion at Lock Haven on Saturday to decide the district champion.
With the score 3-3 in the top of the sixth, Bellefonte scored the winning run on a balk.
Nittany Valley, with a 4-2 lead, weakened in the fifth as Clearfield scored eight runs. The winners led the rest of the way, although Nittany Valley threatened with three runs in the last inning.
Clearfield will meet the Moshannon Valley-Philipsburg winner on Tuesday at 6. The winner of that game will play Bellefonte -Suburban winner for the Southern tier Championship of District 10.

Little League Teams Near District Titles
The Inter-Community and Suburban all-stars moved closer to Little League district titles last night.
At Mill Hall, Inter-Community won the Area 2, District 12, Championship by downing Jersey Shore, 9-7, and Suburban trimmed Bellefonte, 7-1, at the loser’s field.
Three homers paced Inter-Community as it scored four runs in the first inning, three in the third and tow in the fourth. A five-run Jersey Shore rally in the fifth fell short, and Inter-Community took home its third all-star victory.
The losers managed only four hits to 12 for Inter-Community.
The Centre Countians will get a shot at the district title on Saturday when they meet the winner of the Area 1 championship tilt between Memorial and Newberry.
Suburban’s pitchers came through for the third straight game, limiting Bellefonte to four hits. A double was the only extra-bagger of the game.
Bellefonte scored its lone run in the first. Suburban tied it up in the third, went ahead with three more in the fourth and added three in the sixth inning.
Tomorrow, Suburban will host the winner of the Moshannon Valley-Clearfield game for the Southern Tier Championship of District 10. Game time is 6 p.m.
Mo Valley trimmed Philipsburg, last year’s southern Tier champ, 16-2, last night. The game had been postpned twice.
Clearfield and Moshannon are scheduled to meet today at Clearfield.
Tomorrow’s winner will meet the Norther Tier champion on Saturday for the District 10 title.
