Bob Wallace Collection

Thirty five years ago the 1988 Bellefonte LL All-Stars played in the 4 team state championship in Minersville PA. The other three were Tamaqua, Aston-Middletown, and Ingomar. Bellefonte advanced to the states after winning the Section 2 championship in Huntingdon, beating Homer City 4-3 on back to back 6th inning home runs by Kevin Benner and Eric Milton, and then defeating Tyrone 18-3 for the title. Unfortunately they were eliminated in the first round of the States following a 3-2, 9 inning loss to Ingomar from Section 1 in Western PA. Ryan Leathers was on the 88 team and his dad Denny Leathers played on the 58 State Championship team 30 years earlier. Andy Thal and Gary Rockey were co-managers. – Coach Bob Wallace
